Meet Eleanor

Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned, and changes to our plans can be stressful.

When Eleanor—or Ellie as her family calls her—was born at 27 weeks, she had some developmental delays.

The changes a new baby brings can cause some anxiety, but when you’re unsure of what to do, it can make the situation so much harder. Ellie’s parents felt this kind of stress and anxiety about Ellie’s development until Mary, from Kids Who Count, started her home visits and brought them the help and comfort they needed.

She even helped Ellie’s parents implement a successful eating plan when, at one point, Ellie stopped wanting to eat.

Ellie’s mom shared with us how much she appreciated Kids Who Count and the feeling of empowerment that having this extra support has been to their family.

“It was so stressful, but having Mary’s help made a huge difference,” Ellie’s mom, Haley, said. “I don’t know what we would have done without her.”
